Extreme H headline Autosport Engineering 2025
The new Extreme H hydrogen-powered off-road series will top the bill as motorsport’s finest technical companies gather once again at Birmingham’s NEC for the 2025 Autosport Engineering show in January. The two-day event will showcase engineering excellence on January 9-10, as a key component of the wider four-day Autosport International show. And for the first time, major exhibitors at Autosport Engineering will be featured on the Autosport main stage to offer revealing insights into their innovations and technologies.
Extreme H, the new series which launches in 2025, will take to the stage on Friday January 10th at 11am, with Mark Grain, Technical Director at Extreme E, offering a vision of how motorsport can accelerate hydrogen technologies. Extreme H will continue the revolutionary steps set by its electric-powered predecessor Extreme E, combining exciting racing with a strong commitment to sustainability as the first motorsport series to be powered by hydrogen. Beyond the activities on the stage, trade visitors to our Engineering Hall on Thursday and Friday can see James Hunt’s Hesketh which won the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix, Hesketh’s only World Championship Grand Prix victory. And look out for the rare Maki F1 car, one of the many during the 1970s to be powered by the legendary Cosworth DFV V8 engine and raced by Japanese team Maki Engineering.
Companies both familiar and new to the show will exhibit their specialities. Those returning include Willans, Westwood Cylinders and Wavetrac, while established brands such as Arrow Precision Engineering, ARP, Link Engine Management, Raceparts and R53 Suspension will also appear. A mix of overseas companies will add an international flavour to the event, with Öhlins, Samsonas, Askubal and SDT Brakes among those travelling to the Birmingham venue. Meanwhile, first-time exhibitors include Haltech, Premier Fuel Systems and Servotest Systems.
The 2025 show also boasts a good uptake in interest from trade federations such as AMUK and the GTMA. AMUK members that will feature include Nikken, AMufacture and Matsuura, while GTMA members Vision Engineering, Voestalpine, and Knoll will also be present at the trade-only show. Europe’s biggest motorsport show Legendary among motorsport fans, the four-day ASI will run from 9-12 January 2025 in the halls of Birmingham’s NEC and will be split into two sections: a two-day trade show for industry professionals and a two-day public show.
The Engineering Show is the internationally renowned showcase for race engineering, with a hub of exhibitors networking and sharing their latest innovations with suppliers and buyers. This is where the motorsport industry meets to do business.
