BRSCC - Oulton Park 26/10/24
The British Racing Series Car Clubâs final race of the season was at Oulton Park, which was prepped to welcome a thrilling conclusion to this yearâs Fun Cup Endurance Championship. The double-header season finale will crown this yearâs champion, and the season finales of both the Vinyl Detail Fiesta ST150 Challenge and ZEO Prototype Series also provided plenty of entertainment to conclude their campaigns.
The morning was shrouded in fog and mist, which gradually dissipated throughout the day, revealing bright sunshine by afternoon.
Three events comprised the dayâs racing schedule as follows.. Fun Cup Endurance, the Vinyl Detail Fiesta ST150 Challenge, and the ZEO Prototype Series.
Neil Burroughs and Ted Bradbury emerged victorious in the inaugural race in the âNINKYâ Fun Cup Endurance car securing first place. In contrast, Team Olympian, comprising Chris Dovell, Riley Phillips, and Simon Rudd, secured second place in Race 2.
In a highly competitive event, top qualifiers Jake Hill (BTCC) and Charlie Hart (car #110) secured two second-place finishes and the overall winners of the 2024 Fun Cup Endurance Championship were Olympian GRD.
Oulton Park also served as the concluding rounds of the ZEO Prototype Series, providing some of the most formidable single-seater vehicles that graced the track throughout the days racing..
The race featured two Praga R1s, driven by Shane Kelly and Jack Fabby. Mike Jenvey was be behind the wheel of his Jenvey-Gunn, while the CTR01 was piloted by Richard and Matt Chamberlain.
A diverse group of Radicals were also present, adding another captivating entry to the competition. Mike Jenvey secured the final win of the season in the last ZEO Prototypes race, edging out the Pragas of Jack Fabby and Shane Kelly.
Vinyl Detail Fiesta ST150 Challenge...
Daniel Robinson secured a race 1 victory by a margin of 0.548 seconds, narrowly ahead of BTCC driver Mikey Doble. Michael Blackburn emerged victorious in race 2, leading Samuel Watkins to second place, while Daniel Robinson secured a third-place finish.
Basically, we witnessed some epic racing from all 3 events at Oulton Park and we're already counting down the days to next season..
