The CMMC & CTCRC Events at Mallory Park May '24
The CMMC & CTCRC Events at Mallory Park on 18th May 2024 was a thrilling showcase of motorsports action. With a mix of classic touring cars, Formula Fords, single seaters, Hyundais, MGs, and more, the two days of racing provided spectators with some amazing battles on the track.
One of the highlights of the event was the presence of the CTCRC Classic Thunder saloon cars, which competed alongside events like the pre-99 Formula Fords, pre-2003 touring cars, pre-66 touring cars, and the OT Coupe Cup sponsored by Toyo Tires. The BOSS cars also added to the excitement, with Nick ‘Prawn’ Vaughan impressing everyone with his driving skills in his powerful Audi S3.
The pre-83 Ford Escorts and the fire-breathing Sierra Cosworths showcased some intense wheel-to-wheel racing, while the Hoosier Tires Intermarque Silhouettes put on a good show despite having only seven cars on the grid. Paul Knight emerged as the quickest qualifier, just edging out Colin Smith, with Mick Robertson and Warren Farazmand close behind.
In the first race, Paul Knight managed to hold off Colin Smith to take the victory, with Farazmand and Robertson rounding out the top four. The second race saw Smith taking the win, with Knight, Farazmand, Robertson, and Pooley following closely behind.
Overall, the CMMC & CTCRC Events at Mallory Park provided fans with a thrilling weekend of club racing. The diverse range of cars and the competitive racing on display made it a memorable event for all those in attendance. Motorsports enthusiasts can look forward to more exciting races in the future as these clubs continue to showcase their passion for racing at Mallory Park.
Next up for the Supers and Tin Tops is Lydden Hill, which is a circuit we have not been to for a couple of years.
