The third Salon Privé London event held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea was truly a celebration of automotive excellence. With over 18,000 visitors flocking to the event over three days, it was a true testament to the popularity and prestige of the world of supercars.
One of the standout moments of the event was the exclusive world record largest-ever gathering of Aston Martin Valkyrie, which drew in VIP guests including Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey. The sight of these incredible machines all in one place was a true marvel to behold.
I had the pleasure of grabbing a few words with the Bagley Brothers, Andrew and David (event owners/organizers) at the press briefing, mostly about their amazing "good weather" connections and James Hunt 😉, before getting our "sneak peek" press tour of the events 1st reveals.
We were lucky to tie down and interview the PR and Marketing teams from McLaren and Lotus about their new models. Personally, I still can't get enough of the DBX 707 from Aston Martin – there's just nothing else like it in the SUV market.
The special themed days celebrating the 50 years of the Porsche 911 Turbo, Magnificent McLarens, and Supercar Saturday were a delight for car enthusiasts.
The Prix d’Honneur award going to the breathtaking 1930 Bentley Speed Six was well deserved, as were the class wins for the 1972 BMW E9 3.0 CSL, 1983 Lamborghini Countach 5000S, and Vintage Bentley's 1930 Speed Six.
The People's Choice award going to the 1990 Ferrari F40 GT and the Pensioner's Choice award going to the 1966 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Touring Limousine by James Young showcased the diverse range of vehicles on display.
It was a pleasure to have our Head of Branding, Peter Coleman, in attendance at the event. His positive feedback and admiration for the corporate branding on display were a testament to the quality of the event.
Peter had this to say about his 1st Salon Privé...... "Each brand's story was meticulously woven into the fabric of their displays, captivating not just potential buyers but anyone with an appreciation for automotive art. Stunning event "
The weather was perfect, and the lineup of supercars, racing machines, and vintage beauties gleamed in the sunlight. It was truly a sight to behold and one of the best events at the Royal Hospital Chelsea to date.
Catering and hospitality were on form, as they are at every event and everyone ate and drank very well, and the champagne poured all day long..
Special thanks go to Rebecca Leppard for her patience and support, as well as the Royal Hospital's Health and Security team for the guided tour of the venue. Seeing the servicemen and women living such fulfilled lives in retirement was a true honor and a reminder of the respect they deserve.
Overall, the third Salon Privé London event was a huge success and a true celebration of automotive excellence. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this prestigious event in the years to come.
Now, you may wonder how you could top such an exclusive and luxurious Automotive event.. Well, the Blenheim Palace event is another step up.. Roll on August 31st...
